Assortment of Graphic Tutorials

Years ago I started creating tutorials in image form so that whole tutorials could be downloaded and people would have them available whether they were online or not. So on the page for each of these tutorials, you can view or just download the tutorial. Your choice.

 
Noise Animation 

In the sample image above the use of noise animation is very subtle but produces a nice effect just the same. The main reason it might be a little hard to see the effect in the picture above is due to the fact that the noise is placed over portions of the white areas of the signature. If used on other colors or darker colors, it is more noticeable. NOISE ANIMATION TUTORIAL


Rain Animation

 

I think that the rain animation makes for a nice effect. The tutorial is pretty simple, in my opinion, and hopefully will be easy to follow along. RAIN ANIMATION TUTORIAL

Pop-Out Signature

At the time that I wrote this tutorial Internet Explorer did not support transparent PNGs so when I would make pop out signatures I would always blend the pop out area with whatever color background the forum I was using it on had. So the tutorial is written that way. Once you have your signature with a pop out made, you can save it as a transparent PNG instead of a GIF if you want. But keep in mind, if you decide you want your image to be animated, you will have to go with GIF as PNGs do not support animation. Note: Above sample image has been saved as a transparent PNG file. Remove Background

There are different ways to go about removing a background from an image. In fact, when I first started making graphics I used the eraser tool to get rid of what I didn't want. This tutorial, however, makes use of the Pen tool. You might think that it takes too long to use the pen tool but I believe you have more control over the intricate areas with it than with an eraser. Color Change

I wrote this tutorial because someone on a message board once asked how a certain effect that she saw used on a specific signature was created. This tutorial doesn't go into detail about how to make a signature, it basically just explains how to produce the color change effect in the signature. COLOR CHANGE ANIMATION TUTORIAL

Video Clip Animation

One thing that you need to know before you try to work with video clips in graphics is that Image Ready can only open videos when they are in .mov or .avi format. If your video clips are not in one of those formats you will either have to convert it or find another clip that is in the correct format.
NOTE: Apparently the newer versions of Photoshop can handle more video file formats than what I've listed so if you have a newer version you may have more choices. VIDEO CLIP ANIMATION TUTORIAL


 Scarface Poster Style

I had filled a request on G101 Designs for a wallpaper that looked like the Scarface poster, using a picture of the person who was requesting the wallpaper. Afterwards, he asked me how I did it and thus, I wrote up this tutorial. Now, the outcome is not perfect nor will it always look the same with each picture used because it depends on the shading of the original image. You might actually have to play around with settings, beyond what I have written in the tutorial to get the look you want. I found that out because the image I used in the tutorial is not the same image I used for the request on G101 and therefore, it was actually a bit more difficult for me to reproduce the effect for the tutorial but I did the best I could and hopefully it will be of some help. Glow Text Animation

This is just a simple tutorial on how to make a glowing text animation like in the example above. It is a long tutorial though. But once you get used to using some of the features you won't need a tutorial such as this to do other types of animation. Could be useful to those new to Image Ready and animation.
